Liquid Mg-In-Sn alloys were studied by the emf method using concentrat
ion cells with liquid electrolyte, Experiments were performed for 30 a
lloys along three sections on the Gibbs triangle with constant t = 0.2
5, 0.50, 0.75 [t = X(Sn)/(X(Sn) + X(In))] and for magnesium concentrat
ion from 0.1 to 0.65 at temperatures from 950 to 1100 K. From the chan
ge of the slope of the emf versus T, points on the liquidus surface fo
r sixteen alloys were detected, Calculated partial excess Gibbs energi
es Delta G(Mg)(ex), and partial enthalpies Delta H-Mg were compared wi
th the results of previous work.
