For Ni-Cu-Sn alloys with Ni-to-Cu ratios near 2 to 1, the effect of Sn
content and of heat treatment on the ferromagnetic <-> paramagnetic t
ransformation was investigated by dynamic resistance measurements, Spe
cimens with Sn contents near 0, 3, and 7 at, % were measured through t
he temperature range -180 to 900 degrees C. The magnetic transformatio
n temperature decreases linearly with increasing Sn content; in the ca
se of a chill-solidified sample with Sn content similar to 3 at. %, th
is temperature decrease is independent of the maximum temperature atta
ined during heat-treatment cycles for T-max less than or equal to 700
degrees C.
