Abstract
In this paper, the principle of an advanced spherical hydrostatic bear ing with a pressure-tracing system is introduced, which is suitable fo r large-duty rotary forging presses. Compared with conventional hydros tatic bearings, it possesses many advantages, such as greater stiffnes s, a longer working life and an easier selection of throttle valves. T he algorithms of its main parameters are proposed, including pressure ratio, effective loading area of the oil recess, thickness of oil memb rane, etc. Finally, an example is given to support these algorithms.
