Abstract
Prominent soft-tissue uptake of Tc-99m-methylene diphosphonate (MDP) w ithin the prostate bed was found after cryoablation for prostate carci noma. CT, MRI and sonographic studies demonstrated liquifactive necros is of the prostate bed. The probable etiology for Tc-99m-MDP uptake in this case is necrosis with subsequent neovascular hyperemia and micro scopic calcium deposits. Three-phase scintigraphy with Tc-99m-MDP appe ars to be useful for localizing the extent bf soft tissue inflammation and necrosis.
