G. Popescu et al., FINITE-TIME THERMODYNAMICS OPTIMIZATION OF AN ENDO-IRREVERSIBLE AND EXO-IRREVERSIBLE STIRLING MOTOR, Revue générale de thermique, 35(418-19), 1996, pp. 656-661
This work deals with the finite time thermodynamic optimization of a S
tirling engine. An endo- and exo-irreversible cycle is considered. The
internal irreversibilities are due to the internal conductance of the
plant and to the non-adiabatic regenerator. Also, the general irrever
sibilities of the non-quasistatic cycle are taken into account. The ex
ternal irreversibilities are due to the linear interactions between th
e heat sources and the working fluids at finite temperature gaps. A se
nsitivity analysis was performed in order to optimize the operation co
nditions leading to maximum power output. The results obtained are in
good agreement with the experimental data.
