Abstract
The recent proliferation of economically informed writings favoring ma rket socialism exhibits dissonances in this evolving theoretical orien tation. The ethical presuppositions of classical socialism have often been inherited by those who now embrace markets under serialism. But p recisely because it accepts markets, market socialism may prove incomp atible with these sentiments.
