Abstract
Plastics are conquering the engine compartment because of their lightn ess and high performance capability. They are ideal materials for inte grating function, design, calculation and acoustics into individual co mponents. Those automotive subcontractors which manage to offer inexpe nsive, customized solutions can steal a lead in the market.
