From 97 chromatograms concerning 87 quinolizidinic Fabaceae alkaloids
on tile one hand and three standard chromatographic conditions on the
other hand about hRf of 38 quinolizidinic alkaloids, we used mathemati
cal statistical treatments to test the possibility to optimize chromat
ographic separation methods; to find empirical rides which govern asso
ciation between sorbents/ eluents/acid or basic additive; and to acces
s to chromatographic typologies of chemical structure possessing the s
ame molecular skeleton The results permit us to consider multidimensio
nal relationships between structure and chemical and physicochemical p
roperties. In this study we have used various mathematical statistic m
ethods such as non-hierarchic classification (minimal spanning tree) h
ierarchic ascending classification (dendrogram) and correspondence ana
lysis. This approach maybe generalized to a more important homogeneous
chromatographic information corpus with a viewpoint to determine its
statistical validity and limits.
