Ak. Chattopadhyay, STEADY-STATE CHARACTERISTICS OF FINITE POROUS OIL JOURNAL BEARINGS OFARBITRARY WALL THICKNESS, INDIAN JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING AND MATERIALS SCIENCES, 2(6), 1995, pp. 257-260
The aim of the present work is to study theoretically the effect of wa
ll thickness on st state characteristics viz., load parameter, frictio
n parameter, oil flow rate and attitude angle of porous oil bearings o
f arbitrary wall thickness. In the analysis slip flow has been conside
red at the bearing-film interface. The results indicate that load para
meter decreases and friction parameter increases with wall thickness o
f bearings, but attitude angle and end now are marginally affected.
