Va. Matyshak et al., INTERMEDIATE SPECIES IN THE REACTION OF LOW-TEMPERATURE AMMONIA OXIDATION ON CR2O3 - A SPECTROKINETIC STUDY, Kinetics and catalysis, 36(5), 1995, pp. 677-682
The reactivity of surface complexes in low-temperature ammonia oxidati
on on Cr2O3 is studied by the spectrokinetic method. Surface complexes
NH3ads NH2ads, NOads, and NH4+ are shown to be intermediate species.
Two reactions of ammonia oxidation were revealed: one of them (100 - 2
00 degrees C) is preceded by ammonia adsorption in the form of NH4+, t
he other one (200 - 350 degrees C) involves adsorption in the form of
coordinated ammonia.
