We report In nuclear-quadrupole resonance (NQR) and nuclear-magnetic-r
esonance (NMR) studies on the new heavy-electron compound CePd2In at t
emperatures between 0.05 K and 30 K. CePd2In orders antiferromagnetica
lly at T-N = 1.23 K. Below 0.6 K the spin-lattice relaxation rate T-1(
-1) follows a Korringa type of temperature dependence with (T1T)(-1) =
(17 +/- 1) (Ks)(-1), reflecting low-energy excitations associated wit
h the itinerant 4f Ce electron system in the magnetically ordered stat
e. We propose a model for the magnetic structure of CePd2In characteri
sed by localised Ce moments of 0.11 mu(B) with an orthohexagonal magne
tic cell. The small Ce moments of the ordered state indicate a sizeabl
e Kondo screening.
