Abstract
A method for the determination of the enantiomeric purity of the chira l reagent 1-(9-fluorenyl)ethyl chloroformate (FLEC) has been developed . The reagent is reacted with glycine, an achiral compound, and separa ted by capillary electrophoresis using beta- or gamma-cyclodextrin as chiral selectors. A general equation for the recalculation of the meas ured values with respect to the chiral reagent purity is presented. Th e suitability of this approach is practised on the peptide D-Arginine- Glycine to determine trace amounts of the enantiomeric contaminant, th e L-form.
