Abstract
Fourteen new ternary complexes with the general formula [M(Et(2)Dtc)(3 )(bipy)] (M = La, Pr, Nd, Sm-Lu, Y; Et(2)Dtc = N,N-diethyldithiocarbam ate; bipy = 2,2'-bipyridyl) have been prepared and characterized by ch emical analysis, IR spectra, electronic spectra and conductivity measu rements. The crystal and molecular structures of [Er(Et(2)Dtc)(3)(bipy )] have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques . The central Er-III atom is octa-coordinated and in a distorted dodec ahedral geometry, being coordinated to six sulphur atoms of three Et(2 )Dtc ligands and to two nitrogen atoms of bipy ligand.
