The hydrothermal reactions of VCl4 with phosphorous acid H3PO3, in the
presence of the appropriate organoamine, yield new examples of the ox
ovanadium(IV)-phosphite class of materials, [HN(Me)(CH2CH2)(2)N(Me)H]
[(VO)(4)(OH)(2)(HPO3)(4)] (1), [H2N(CH2CH2)(2)NH2] [(VO)(3)(HPO3)(4)(H
2O)(2)] (2), and [VO(HPO3)(H2O)] (3). The 3-D framework structure adop
ted by 3 is illustrated.
