Abstract
The wavelength translation of an AM-VSB video signal by a gain-saturat ed semiconductor laser-amplifier is reported. In experiments CNR degra dation caused by translation gave power penalties of 4.5 to 7.5 dB, ov er the carrier frequency range 50 to 1050 MHz.
