B. Nouri et al., APPLICATION OF A NEW POLYMERIC ADSORBENT TO ISOLATE CHLOROTRIAZINES AND THEIR DEALKYLATED DEGRADATION PRODUCTS FROM WATER SAMPLES, Analyst, 120(11), 1995, pp. 2683-2687
New solid-phase extraction cartridges ENVI-ChromP based on a non ionic
styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer resin with a large specific surface
800-900 m(2) g(-1) were used to isolate chlorotriazine parent compoun
ds and metabolites from water samples,Breakthrough experiments show th
at dealkylated chlorotriazines have high sorption capacity, Recoveries
of 90-100% over a concentration range of 0.05-1 mu g l(-1) were obtai
ned with relative standard deviations of between 2 and 5% (n = 6) at t
he 0.05 mu g l(-1) level, A good linearity was observed, The performan
ce of the total analytical procedure was evaluated by analysing drinki
ng- and river water, During optimization of the method some parameters
, such as the influence of water pH and solvent efficiency in the elut
ion step, are tested and discussed, The use of sorbent discs (10 mm, C
-18)mas tested for the determination of chlorotriazine parents and met
abolites, experimental results showed that the C-18 discs are not suit
able for off-line trace enrichment of polar herbicides when large wate
r volumes are involved.
