Abstract
A 32-year old female patient is presented with stroke due to occlusion of a main branch of the right middle cerebral artery. She was a heavy smoker and on contraceptives. An AT-III deficiency, type I, was found . The combination of these risk factors may be related to stroke in yo ung adults. AT-III deficiency predisposes to both venous and arterial thrombosis.
