G. Trudel et al., SEXUAL BEHAVIORS AND PLEASURE IN COUPLES WITH HYPOACTIVE SEXUAL DESIRE, Journal of sex education and therapy, 21(3), 1995, pp. 210-216
Hypoactive sexual desire (HSD) iras been defined as a loss of desire f
or sexual activities accompanied by a decrease of sexual fantasies. Fo
r various reasons, this sexual problem has gained considerable attenti
on within the last ten years. The current research studies the charact
eristics of the sexual repertoire of couples with HSD. We hypothesized
that first, their sexual behavior repertoire is more limited and seco
nd, that their degree of pleasure associated with various sexual activ
ities is lower than couples without HSD. The results of the present st
udy indicate that subjects with HSD have experimented with significant
ly less sexual activities than subjects without HSD. Moreover, the pre
sent study indicates a difference between couples with and without HSD
for the level of pleasure associated with experimented sexual activit
ies.
