A new species of parasite in the Rhigonematidae, Rhigonema trichopeplu
m sp. n., is described from the intestine of an unidentified spiroboli
d millipede (Diplopoda: Spirobolida) from Myanmar. The new species is
characterized by the following combination of characters : female body
length of about 6.6 mm; cuticular pilosity restricted to the anterior
portion of the body; female genital tract having a long vagina divide
d into a thick-walled, muscular distal region followed by a thin-walle
d vaginal chamber, vulval flap present; vaginal diverticulum absent; f
emale tail with a markedly salient posterior anal lip; male spicule ti
