Abstract
The study of phase relationships in Archean Al-Mg granulites of Ihouha ouene within the KFMASH system has shown that these rocks are not rest ites generated by partial melting. Therefore, their unusual bulk compo sition is due to pre-metamorphic processes. Projection of different bu lk rock compositions from the literature in the compatibility diagram established for Al-Mg granulites shows that the possible protoliths ar e some kind of altered and/or weathered mafic or ultramafic rocks.
