G. Demey et A. Devos, ON THE OPTIMUM EFFICIENCY OF ENDOREVERSIBLE THERMODYNAMIC PROCESSES, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 27(4), 1994, pp. 736-739
The classical theory of endoreversible thermodynamics gives rise to an
optimum efficiency for the power output given by 1 - T2/T1(1/2) in co
ntrast to the Carnot efficiency 1 - T2/T1 used in reversible thermodyn
amics. It will be shown that many systems show the same efficiency, al
though a system giving an optimum efficiency involving T2/T1(1/3) has
been found.
