A 15 year old warmblood gelding was presented with hematuria and a 4 w
eeks lasting severe lameness of the right front limb. Clusters of tumo
ur cells were detected in the urine sediment. Radiographic and sonogra
phic examination revealed a tumour metastasis in the right proximal hu
meral diaphysis and metaphysis. Following euthanasia, the post-mortem
examination revealed a transitional cell carcinoma of the left kidney
which had metastasized to the left renal lymph nodes, left adrenal gla
nd and right humerus.
