Abstract
In this article, the measurement of the potency of a chemical or mixtu re from its dose response in a particular assay is addressed. Attentio n is focused on data from the Ames Salmonella assay. Three measures of potency are explored and shown to be highly correlated. The presentat ion then discusses specific areas of research that might benefit from a study of potency.
