Bj. Mcnamara et al., THE FIRST 2 YEARS OF THE BATSE COMPTEL NMSU GRB RAPID RESPONSE NETWORK, Astrophysics and space science, 231(1-2), 1995, pp. 251-254
The BATSE/COMPTEL/NMSU Rapid Response Network (RRN) was formed to prov
ide rapid follow-up of gamma-ray bursts imaged by the COMPTEL instrume
nt on the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory. The RRN consists of approxima
te to 22 professional observatories located around the world spanning
both northern and southern hemispheres. Also included in the RRN is th
e Airforce GEODSS network. The goal of the RRN is to perform optical a
nd radio observations of COMPTEL error boxes as soon after the burst a
s possible. We present results from the first two years of operation o
f this network.
