Abstract
Initiation of reentries in coupled parallel fibers is studied as a fun ction of several central parameters intrinsic to those fibers. The inf luence of inhomogeneities in the fibers leading to drift of the vortic es and the interaction between them is also analyzed numerically and e xperimentally.
