The geometry of kink planes, affecting an allochthon over a tectonic r
amp, depends on the number and dip of the different planes of the ramp
. In some cases, the ramp geometry produces the fusion of the kink pla
nes. Theoretically, the resulting differential shear can be compensate
d by several processes. In this paper, we explain and examine the proc
ess of local accommodation marked with deep-rooted back thrust in the
plane-fusion area.
