Sa. Kirk et K. Corcoran, SCHOOL RANKINGS - MINDLESS NARCISSISM OR DO THEY TELL US SOMETHING, Journal of social work education, 31(3), 1995, pp. 408-414
Rankings of professional schools are often flawed and always controver
sial. This was certainly the case when, for the first time, U.S. News
& World Report published a list based on ''reputation'' of the ''best'
' schools of social work. This article compares the results of that st
udy with the findings of eight other attempts to rank social work scho
ols over the last 20 years. The similarities and differences among tho
se studies are discussed in terms of what we may learn from them.
