J. Cakl et P. Mikulasek, FLUX AND FOULING IN THE CROSS-FLOW CERAMIC MEMBRANE MICROFILTRATION OF POLYMER COLLOIDS, Separation science and technology, 30(19), 1995, pp. 3663-3680
The results of an experimental study of ceramic membrane microfiltrati
on of synthetic polymer colloids differing greatly in average particle
size and distribution broadness are presented. The effects of the pol
ymer nature, pressure difference, feed velocity, and particle to membr
ane pore diameter ratio on the permeate flux and membrane fouling are
discussed. Attempts have also been made to explain the results in term
s of simple models of the operative mechanisms.
