Abstract
The electron emission resulting from a collision of accelerated cluste rs and a solid surface was measured. The charged, mass selected cluste rs were accelerated to high velocities (3-100 km/s) in a linear accele rator. The quantum yield for electron emission as well as their kineti c energy distribution were measured. These measurements allow an estim ate of kinetic to internal energy conversion.
