UNRELATED PATIENTS WITH DISCOID LUPUS-ERYTHEMATOSUS (DLE) AND SYSTEMIC LUPUS-ERYTHEMATOSUS (SLE) SHARE THE MAJOR HISTOCOMPATIBILITY COMPLEX(MHC) MARKERS - REPORT OF 2 MEXICAN FAMILIES
E. Garciagonzalez et al., UNRELATED PATIENTS WITH DISCOID LUPUS-ERYTHEMATOSUS (DLE) AND SYSTEMIC LUPUS-ERYTHEMATOSUS (SLE) SHARE THE MAJOR HISTOCOMPATIBILITY COMPLEX(MHC) MARKERS - REPORT OF 2 MEXICAN FAMILIES, EJD. European journal of dermatology, 5(7), 1995, pp. 572-574
Lupus erythematosus is a polymorphic disease that has been known since
the last century. Several cases of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
can occur in a family, but the association of SLE and discoid lupus e
rythematosus (DIE) in family members is Infrequent. Here, we report on
two, unrelated Mexican families each one with some members having SLE
and several others with DLE. All Five patients shared the MHC haploty
pe: (HL4-A1, B8, Cw7, DR3, DQ2, DRw52, SC01, BFS, C2*C, C4A*0, C4B*1)
suggesting that common genetic mechanisms are responsible of these fi
ndings.
