Abstract
A 15-year-old boy fell ill with high fever, headache and lumbar pain. In the course of the disease an acute renal failure occurred not requi ring dialysis. Serological investigations showed high IgG- and IgM-ant ibody titers against the Hantaan serotype of hantavirus. Hantavirus in fection should be included in the differential diagnosis of acute rena l failure of uncertain cause in children.
