Abstract
CH3NH3VO3 is orthorhombic, P n a 2(1), with Z = 16 and the following u nit-cell dimensions: a = 11.898 (2), b = 18.641 (2), c = 8.468 (3) ang strom Crystal structure of this new salt is mainly characterized by a layer organization built by planes of infinite (VO3)n, chains alternat ing with planes of methylammonium groups. The structure was performed by using 3,072 reflections with a final R value of 0.028. The complete hydrogen-bond scheme is described.
