Abstract
Based on the arguments of excitation energy systematics and alignment additivity rule, the spins of the lowest observed states of the (h(11/ 2))p(i(13/2))(n) bands in Tb-156, Ho-158, Lu-166, and Ta-168 are assig ned as 8, 9, 8, and 9 instead of the previous assignments of 6, 6, 7, and 10, respectively. Taking these new spin assignments and the prelim inary experimental results of Lu-162,Lu-164 into account, the systemat ic features of the signature inversion of the (h(11/2))(p)(i(13/2))(n) bands of the doubly odd nuclei in the lighter rare-earth region (arou nd A similar to 160) are presented.
