Abstract
The discovery of a new of antifungal agent, a glycosylated phosphatidy lcholine, is reported, and the syntheses of the first two members of t his series, -yl-2-O-palmitoyl-3-O-phosphatidylcholinylglycerol and yl- 2-O-palmitoyl-3-O-phosphatidylcholinylglycerol, are described. Their a ctivities against the pathogenic fungi Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Aspergillus fumigatus are also reported.
