SHORT HISTORY OF THE FLOWMETERING

In this paper the historical development of the flow measurement throu gh the centuries, from the dawning until today, is reviewed. The evolu tion of the main categories of flowmeter is sketched out following the contributions of the main researchers and scientists to the flow meas urement development. Finally, on the basis of market indications, the future trends of the flow measurement in some specific field of applic ation are outlined.
