Wool gabardine fabric has been dyed in the presence of several differe
nt metal cations. Their influence on setting behaviour and subsequent
dimensional properties is detailed. The use of extremely low levels of
copper(II) sulphate as a novel dyebath antisetting treatment for wool
is also demonstrated.
