Abstract
The transition between garnet and spinel peridotites, caused by the re action orthopyroxene + spinel = olivine + garnet, has been envisaged i n the harzburgites of Indus Ophiolite Belt based on petrographic and g eochemical studies. The reaction has been tested in the light of evide nce available from phase equilibrium experiments on such transition.
