SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NICKEL(II), COBALT(II) AND COPPER(II) COMPLEXES OF 1-AROYL-4-ARYL-THIOSEMICARBAZIDES

A series of complexes of the type M(L-H)OAc, [where M = Ni-II, Co-II, Cu-II; OAc = CH3COO-; L = 1-salicylol-4-p-tolyl thiosemicarbazide (sto tsc), 1-salicyloyl-4-p-chlorophenyl thiosemicarbazide (SClptsc), 1-iso nicotinoyl-4-p-chlorophenyl 1-isonicotinoyl-4-p-tolyl thiosemicarbazid e (intotsc), 1-benzoyl-4-p-chlorophenyl thiosemicarbazide (bclptsc) an d 1-benzoyl-4-p-totyl thiosemicarbazide (btotsc)] and neutral complexe s of Ni-II of the type NI[L'-H], (where L' = inclptsc, intotsc, bclpts c and btotsc) have been prepared. The nature of bonding and the possib le structures of the complexes are discussed.
