Bjl. Burton et al., AORTIC ROOT REPLACEMENT AND EXTRAANATOMIC BYPASS FOR INTERRUPTED AORTIC-ARCH IN AN ADULT, The Annals of thoracic surgery, 60(5), 1995, pp. 1400-1402
We describe an unusual case of interrupted aortic arch, aneurysmal asc
ending aorta, and aortic regurgitation in a 24-year-old man. He presen
ted with general malaise, weakness of his legs, and hypertension. A si
ngle-stage operation was performed in which the aortic root was replac
ed with concomitant extraanatomic bypass of the interrupted segment of
the aortic arch. He made a full recovery and has returned to work.
