W. Speed et al., THE DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF A HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY (HPLC) TANDEM MASS-SPECTROMETRY ASSAY FOR FENTICONAZOLE IN HUMANPLASMA AND COMPARISON WITH AN HPLC-UV METHOD, Rapid communications in mass spectrometry, 9(14), 1995, pp. 1452-1456
A method is described for the determination of fenticonazole in human
female plasma. The method utilizes high performance liquid chromatogra
phy coupled to atmospheric pressure positive-ion chemical ionization t
riple quadrupole mass spectrometry. Multiple reaction monitoring is em
ployed for selectivity and sensitivity which enables quantification ov
er the range 0.5-20 ng mL(-1) with acceptable precision and accuracy.
A comparison is made with an existing HPLC-W assay and the utility of
the technology of combined liquid chromatography and tandem mass spect
rometry for subnanogram per mt assays is discussed.
