Abstract
We calculate the particle spectrum of the SSM which follows from the a ssumption that the commonly assumed universal form of the soft supersy mmetry-breaking terms is invariant under renormalisation. It is argued that this ''strong'' universality might be approached as an infrared fixed point for the unified theory above the unification scale.
