Mb. Huysmans et al., EVALUATION OF API CAMPY IN COMPARISON WITH CONVENTIONAL METHODS FOR IDENTIFICATION OF THERMOPHILIC CAMPYLOBACTERS, Journal of clinical microbiology, 33(12), 1995, pp. 3345-3346
API Campy was compared with conventional biochemical methods for its a
bility to identify 100 thermophilic Campylobacter isolates. When the r
esults were read according to the manufacturer's instructions, API Cam
py showed 92% agreement with conventional methods. Extended incubation
of the assimilation strip resulted in the correct identification of a
n additional two isolates. Discrepant results occurred for six isolate
s. Overall, API Campy offered no advantages over conventional methods.
