The chelate stability constants of pyrazinecarboxylic acid (PCA) and 3
-aminopyrazinecarboxylic acid (3-APCA) with divalent Co, Cu, Mn, and t
rivalent Cr ions are reported at 25 degrees C and ionic strength 0.1 M
. In addition, the study,is concerned with the effect of ionic strengt
h and temperature on the chelate stability constants of the complexes
with Co(ll). The relative values of the overall stability constants (l
og beta(n)), in order of decreasing stability, are Co > Cu > Mn > Cr f
or complexes with the two ligands (PCA and 3-APCA).
