Abstract
Excess volumes of the ternary mixtures butylamine-cyclohexane-benzene and tributylamine-cyclohexane-benzene at 298.15, 303.15 and 313.15 K h ave been investigated from density measurements using a vibrating dens itometer. A number of empirical equations predicting ternary mixture p roperties from the composite binary parameters have been examined. Fur thermore, the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory has been extended for t ernary mixtures and is applied to the present ternary mixtures.
