The preconcentration of strontium from aqueous colloid solution contai
ning di(2-ethylhexyl)-phosphoric acid as a surfactant was performed us
ing micellar ultrafiltration technique. Filters with different pore si
ze and materials (nitrocellulose, polysulfonate, glass fibers) were us
ed to achieve a separation from liquid solutions. The strontium recove
ries depending on the different conditions (pH, concentration of surfa
ctant, background electrolytes) were determined and the results are ex
plained in the terms of colloidal parameters of the system, viz. surfa
ce tension and turbidity.
