Abstract
The conversion of hydroxycarboxylic acids with primary or secondary hy droxy functions into the corresponding vinyl esters was successfully a chieved under basic conditions in presence of vinyl acetate and pallad ium(II) acetate as catalyst. Side reactions, which were previously fre quently interfering with these transformations, have been studied and reaction conditions optimised to reach maximum product yield.
