Abstract
The use of chromous chloride reduction as a preparation technique for isolation of pyrite sulphur for isotopic analysis has been assessed. A small but consistent fractionation is introduced by reduction of pyri te to H2S, enriching the yield in S-34 by 0.55+/-0.14 parts per thousa nd.
