A new solid-state MAS NMR experiment is described that recovers the di
polar interaction between spin-1/2 nuclei and quadrupolar nuclei spin
pairs. This technique combines the principles of rotational-echo, doub
le-resonance (REDOR) NMR and transfer-of-populations-double-resonance
(TRAPDOR) NMR. Dipolar evolution is driven by a REDOR-like pi-pulse tr
ain applied to the spin-1/2 nuclei and by a single TRAPDOR-like adiaba
tic-passage pulse applied to the quadrupolar nuclei.
