NONTRIVIAL SCATTERING OF LOCALIZED SOLITONS IN A (2-DIMENSIONAL INTEGRABLE SYSTEM(1))

One usually expects localized solitons in an integrable system to inte ract trivially. There is an integrable (2+1)-dimensional chiral equati on which admits multi-soliton solutions with trivial dynamics. This pa per describes how to generate explicit solutions representing nontrivi al soliton interactions: in particular, a head-on collision of two sol itons resulting in 90 degrees scattering.
