Rb. Meacham et al., EJACULATORY DUCT OBSTRUCTION - DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT WITH TRANSRECTAL SONOGRAPHY, American journal of roentgenology, 165(6), 1995, pp. 1463-1466
Ejaculatory duct obstruction is thought to be a relatively uncommon bu
t readily treatable cause of male infertility. Obstruction is frequent
ly caused by cysts originating from or impinging on the ejaculatory du
cts. The use of transrectal sonography has facilitated identification
of patients with ejaculatory duct obstruction and has led to the reali
zation that this abnormality is more common than was previously recogn
ized. Transrectal sonography now prays a critical role in both the dia
gnosis and the treatment of this condition. The purpose of this pictor
ial essay is to illustrate the use of transrectal sonography in the di
agnosis and treatment of ejaculatory duct obstruction.
